Join us for a special day of offering something back to the aquatic world that we all enjoy, get a free t-shirt, and earn your PADI Project Aware Specialty Certification!

On Saturday, March 26th, New Horizons staff and divers will conduct a clean-up project at Laurel Lake beach. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us, as we will be doing both on-shore and in-water clean up work. The Laurel Lake beach is a popular recreational area in the summer, so we will be picking up trash and other debris while the water level is low so it is clean and safe going into the busy spring and summer months. Out topside crew will walk the beach in teams, picking up things and sorting trash vs. recyclables. Those who wish to dive and who own drysuits or 7mm wetsuits with hoods and gloves will be able to do some shallow patrol dives along the beach as well.

Participants who sign up by Monday, March 21 will receive a special t-shirt designed for the day, and will be eligible to attend a free PADI Project Aware Specialty class on Wednesday, March 30 from 7pm – 10pm.

We will meet at New Horizons at 9:00am on Saturday the 26th, and will be able to take participants in our store van, and will also organize carpools as needed. The clean up will take just a couple of hours, and we will be back in Lexington by mid-afternoon.
