Scuba Review: Tues. March 27

Has it been more than six months since you were diving? Are you going on a scuba vacation and the dive shop where you are going said you need a refresher or review course? This is a great way to make sure you are sharp on your skills and are ready to step off the back of the boat. Our one night Scuba Review is for divers who are certified at any level who want to refresh their skills and techniques before their trip. Why waste your first couple of vacation dives trying to iron out problems?

Come in to sign up for the review, and you will receive a comprehensive workbook to go through in advance of your review night. It leads you through a basic scuba knowledge review at your own pace. Then one of our staff members will finish the informational review with you in the classroom, then take you to the pool for a couple of hours of water work. When you have completed the evening, you will receive a sticker for your certification card that shows you went through the program (see below). We can also certify that you completed the review in your log book.

Scuba review

Time: 7:00pm – 11:00pm
Cost: $75 per person
Limit: 6
Prerequisite: certified beginner diver from any scuba agency

We require advance payment to insure that the review will take place. Please come to New Horizons to sign up and confirm your scuba review. Thanks!

Peak Performance Buoyancy Clinic: Thurs. March 29

Looking for a great one-night “tune up” for your diving skills? Sign up for Ed Gabe’s Peak Performance Buoyancy Clinic: Thursday, March 29 from 6:00pm – 11:00pm at New Horizons. Good buoyancy control is critical to safe, fun diving, especially if you are doing photography, surveying fish, or even responding to an emergency.

Ed will take you through a classroom session that shares key tips and techniques for precision buoyancy control, propulsion, weighting strategies, and relaxation well beyond what is taught in beginner classes. Then you will go to the UK pool for an in-water session with focused coaching and practice.

The cost for this clinic is only $80, and if you want to go on to earn the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy certification in the open water with Ed, you can sign up any time this summer for $50, which means your entire course comes at a savings compared to the standard rate.

*** As an added value, if you are taking the PADI Digital Underwater Photography Course with Jim Leemhuis on either March 15/20 or March 22/27, you can sign up for this buoyancy clinic at a discounted rate of $60.

Come in to New Horizons to sign up for the course; we hope you will take advantage of this special evening of precision skills!
